The hammer mill is designed for fine grinding of bulk components such as sugar, salt, spices, herbs, and grain. They are used in the food, pharmaceutical, perfume and cosmetic, chemical industries.

SCOPE OF APPLICATION

The hammer mill is used to grind to a powdered state (fine grinding) a wide range of products, such as: sugar, salt, sea salt, spices (black pepper, coriander, etc.), dried vegetables and fruits, food additives, waste pasta, grains, dry herbs, and other products.

The hammer mill is used to grind non-oily products, while the moisture content of the raw materials should not exceed 5-7%.

The middle obtained fraction of powdered sugar is 100µm.

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The hammer mill consists of a receiving hopper, a drum, in which there are grinding hammers, a control panel, a drive, and a frame. The main working unit of the mill, which is responsible for the implementation of the main function — a fine grinding, is the drum, which contains metal plates (hammers) and interchangeable sieves. The drum is closed with a cover and is locked tight with fasteners. If it is necessary to replace the mesh, the cover can be easily removed from the drum, opening access to the inner container.

The principle of the mill operation is based on the product grinding due to rotating hammers. The product from the storage hopper falls into the working area of the shredder. The hopper has a gate by which it is possible to regulate the flow of the incoming product into the shredder drum. In the drum, the product is grinded by rotating hammers, and then, passing through the gauge mesh, enters the bag. At the exit port, there is a special clamp that allows you to securely attach the bag to the mill bed.

Calibration sieves can be of different diameters and they are selected for the product depending on its properties and the desired fraction. The set includes three interchangeable sieves.

All components of the mill (in the base case), in contact with the product, are made of food grade stainless steel AISI304. In the case of the mill use for aggressive products that require more alloyed steel, the mill can be made of AISI316 or AISI321 steel.
